  • Where Did The Sun Go?

    Who needs sun anyway!

So..what are Masters Of The Scene up to, we hear you ask? Well! We’ve just finished our run of Summer shows at Butlins Skegness. Got a few more here and there over the next few months, including an appearance at the Butlins Oktoberfest Adult Weekender in Minehead.

We’ve got a show coming up at St Paul’s Church in Mirfield at the weekend – we’ve played there before and it was great, so we’re really looking forward to that one! Fantastic venue (it literally is an old church!).

We’re then at New Mills Theatre in October (hopefully we’ve recovered from Oktoberfest!) – we have a sweet spot for this venue as it was the first venue we played at with one of our previous Studio63 Productions shows – Rock And Roll Dreams Came True – so we’re really happy to be back there!

We’ve got a few dates coming up over in Ireland in November, and we’ve just added a new date over Christmas – the fine folk at The Witchwood in Ashton-Under-Lyne liked our first appearance over the Summer and have asked us back, which is great!

A post wouldn’t be a proper post without some random pictures, so here’s some!

  • Summer Update!

What a few months we’ve had!

At the end of May we kicked off our Masters Of The Scene Summer stint at Butlin’s Skegness! It’s a long drive from Stockportholm but it’s totally worth it – it’s so much fun! Two shows every Friday night until October, working with the awesome Redcoats and backstage tech staff, and then being able to sample Reds afterwards and stay over in one of the chalets – what isn’t there to like! (As well as the shows at Skegness we’re also at Minehead Butlins for their Oktoberfest Big Weekender on the 13th October 2023!)

We played a slot at the Lookalike Tribute Festival in Weston-Super-Mare and combined that with a night camping at a nearby site, then popped over to Porto in Portugal for a few days to play at a private corporate event at a beautiful lakeside venue with fantastic hospitality. Sooo much sangria..and port, of course!

Back in the UK we had a show at The Witchwood in Ashton-Under-Lyne in Manchester – a live music venue more used to rock acts, but our live band absolutely smashed it and proved that ABBA are totally capable of blowing roofs off! As a result we’ll be back for more this year, so keep an eye on our show list for imminent dates!

We had the privilege of playing at The Montgomery theatre’s closing night before their big refurbishment, and then we had a fantastic festival gig at Tameside Rocks in Hattersley.

And whilst all that was going on, in between Masters Of The Scene shows, our talented performers were out performing with our smaller duo and 4-piece ABBA party band Bjorn To Be!

Here are some random pictures from the last few months!
